Our commitment to your privacy
We are seriously committed to protect your privacy while you are using the vSwarm software or servers. In this document we outline our privacy policy and explain in detail which data we collect, why we collect data and how and why we use it. Moreover we want to show you how we protect your data against abuse.
Why do we store personal data
First of all, you are free to register to the vSwarm Website. Some areas can be accessed without supplying personal data. But to fully be part of the vSwarm community it is necessary to create an account and supply personal data.
Why we need your personal data
Without some personal information we cannot identify you. That fact would make interacting and communicating with you impossible. Finally leading to the result that we cannot operate the vSwarm Service for you. Thus revealing some of your personal data is vital for a fruitful cooperation. And for us this means: we have to prevent abuse of your data, to justify the trust you put in us.

We use your personal data (email, name) for communication with you. In a later stage we might use your data to transfer money to you earned by sharing your computer.

When you create your vSwarm account we collect the following personal data:
first name, last name
address (Street, zip code, city, state, country)
company (if applicable)
e-mail-address
Account type
date and time of registration
and all other details you fill in our registration form
Non-Personal data
We collect non-personal data as well. This data is used to analyse the usage of our vSwarm Website and it is mainly created by technical necessity. Every time you visit the vSwarm Website we will log information about the visit. The data collected contains amongst others information data about your browser, your operating system, the page you came from, the pages visited/requested, the time spent on the vSwarm Website, the internet protocol address.
It would be possible to connect this data to your personal account data, but if not necessary we won't combine this information. See "Additional purposes" why we might combine this data.
Connection data
When you access the vSwarm Website or use the vSwarm Client, we automatically store communication data (e. g. your IP, the pages you visited, the time you spent on-line). This could be connected to your personal data.
If there is no necessity to use this data we will not make use of the combined data. The main but not the only reason to not comply with this policy is the abuse of your account for any illegal activities or actions interfering with our software, other vSwarm users and/or our or other servers or computer systems. You can participate in our community projects: the vSwarm Wiki, the vSwarm Forum and the vSwarm Ticket System. In all cases the information supplied to forms will be stored on our servers. In some cases information you supply will be publicly accessible (e. g. a post in the forum). Always make sure that the data you submit to these public areas is thought to be public and accessible by all users on the internet.
We cannot be hold responsible if you choose to submit private data to public message boards or other public website areas and this data hereafter is abused.
Submitting jobs to vSwarm
When submitting jobs to vSwarm you upload files to the vSwarm server. These files as well as the resulting files are stored on our servers and on the client processing your job. We cannot guarantee for the security and integrity of the data on these clients.

After your job is finished you can download the results and delete the source and result files. As we backup the data it might take several days before all copies of your files are deleted from our system. We will not keep copies of your source files or resulting files after you deleted these files and the backup cycle is completed.
