How vSwarm handles your job
vSwarm distributes calculation tasks to remote PCs participating in the vSwarm Community. After you supplied the source file to us, we distribute this file to a number of clients connected to our servers. The file is copied via an encrypted connection to the client PC and stored on the client in the virtual machine.
Then the virtual machine starts processing your job and finally saves the completed file. This resulting file will be uploaded to our servers via an encrypted internet connection. After the file has successfully been saved on our server, the result file on the client-side will be deleted. If no further job is available for the client based on your source file this file will be deleted too. If the client can start another job based on your source file, the file will remain on the client inside the virtual machine until the job is completed.
Due to the way your data is processed with a certain effort and time it is possible for clients to gain access to your job data.
Risks in connection with this procedure
The client has access to the source-files as soon as it is processing your job and to one of the resulting files after finishing your job.
If there is confidential data included in your source file or the resulting file, always keep in mind that your file is processed on other computers inside a virtual machine. We cannot 100% ensure that your source or result data is not read by others.
For future releases we might implement a more secure way of handling files on the client, but as the data must be copied to the client, this is not an easy task.
